Save a Stray 5K run and 1 mile walk
Race Info
The Save a Stray 5K is a timed event taking place in Freeport, ME on Saturday, August 15 at 8 a.m. and beginning at the Mast Landing School in Freeport. There is also a 1 mile walk with the same day and time however it begins from a different location than the 5K in Freeport.
The Save a Stray 5K supports Midcoast Humane’s mission of making life better for animals and people in our community. We fulfill our mission by providing life-saving veterinary care, food, and comfort to the over 4,000 homeless animals we see in a typical year. Midcoast Humane provides adoption and pet retention services, community support, humane education, and contracts with 39 towns, from Falmouth to Somerville.
Prizes
Gift cards will be awarded to the top male and female finisher in each age group.

- 30 - 39
- 40 - 49
- 50 - 59
- 60 - 69
- 70+ years old
The top overall male and female finishers will receive extra special prizes!
Entry Fee
- Preregistration - 1 mile $30.00 and the 5K $40.00 24 hours before the race. There will be a $2.75 processing fee per runner added at check out.
- Day of race registration 7:00 - 7:45 a,m .- 1 mile $35.00 and 5K $40.00
- Commemorative T-Shirts will be provided to anyone who registers by Saturday, July 25th.

Race Policy
If race is canceled due to extreme weather conditions, there will be no make-up date and no refunds.
